Hello friends!
I hope you are well and enjoying the week so far. We have a short school week with Thanksgiving, so we are planning some fun things to do this week. The weather has been dreamy so I’m going to see if I can convince the crew to go hiking.

For today’s post, I wanted to share a recap of my trip to Ft. Lauderdale for the Reinventing Health Summit. This was my second participation in this event – check out last year’s recap here! – and my first participation as a speaker. I was invited to speak on a panel with three incredible coaches – they have all inspired me throughout my journey. as IHP – and even though I was super nervous, it went really well.

Some highlights of the trip:

– Strong. Lauderdale! It was my first time in Ft. Lauderdale, which is surprising since it’s a Disney cruise port and we love Disney cruises – and I thought it was super cute. It reminded me of Jacksonville, which was one of our favorite beaches when we lived in Valdosta. I arrived a night early and had time to meet a Receipt of income customer for a dinner at Pura Vida,

take a Lagree course,

and had a blowout at the Dry Bar, which quickly fell into the humidity, but I tried lol.

– Dinner with friends from the IHP. We had a delicious dinner at the hotel’s Lona Restaurant, and it was really great to chat in person with so many friends I see online all the time and at our EquiLife Ambassador board meetings. We ate tacos and talked, and it was the perfect way to start the trip.

–Energy.

There’s a special magic to being surrounded by passionate people who have the same mission as you: the desire to help others live their best, happiest, healthiest lives.

– The sessions.

This year it was even IHP-only – they alternate years of public events and coaches-only events – and there were so many impactful sessions.

Some of my favorites were from Dr. Tony from Hope 4 Cancer in Mexico,

Speech by Dr Cabral,

and Eric Lofholm’s presentation on starting a business.

– Our panel!!

I was invited to speak on a 6-figure health coaching expert panel with influential women I adore: Rebecca, Ellen, and Tricia.

When I was invited to speak, I didn’t know if I was going to do it. I regularly struggle with imposter syndrome and public speaking is (was?) my worst nightmare. I’m consistent with content creation and all elements of my online business, but at least once a day I think to myself, “What am I doing? Does anyone care? Do I suck?”

I read a book with strategies for public speakingand I did a lot of meditation, prayer and visualization. I wanted to do it, but I also didn’t want to pass out on stage.

A few things were in my favor before this:

We were led backstage by Cassie, who is an absolute angel. Everyone who works at EquiLife is an extraordinary human, but Cassie is a particularly bright and beautiful light. (You can see it in this IG live we did here!) She gave us a much needed pep talk before going on stage and reassured us that we had much to teach and give to the community.

I took a CBD gummy that was in our goody bag. It was just enough to mitigate the advantage lol.

We prayed together. We held hands and Rebecca said the most beautiful prayer and after that I felt like I could do it.

Also, Dr. Cabral is a really nice person and it helped that I talked to him in the past. I knew he would ask great questions and was easy to talk to, so this part of the panel took a lot of the pressure off.

-The VIP awards dinner.

Thanks to your incredible support, this trip was gifted to me as a winner of the 100 Day Challenge. I placed 7th out of over 5,000 CPIs and I also got lucky #7 last year 😉 It means the world to me that I can play a small part in your health journey and I am so grateful to all of you and all my amazing clients.

It was so much fun to enjoy a great meal with the other challenge winners, speakers and EquiLife team.

– The exhibition!

It’s a bit smaller, but much better quality than some of the conferences I’ve attended. Some of my favorite brands were there, including Higher DOSE and real Redmond salt.

On a personal note, the trip was also a big milestone for me because before that, I hadn’t been alone for more than an hour since February. When we started homeschooling P, a lot has changed in our lives. Since then, I have never entered our house alone, let alone a hotel room. It was like the postpartum days – I was trying to remember what it was like to be alone – and even though parts of me CAN’T WAIT to leave lol, I was sad as soon as it actually happened.

(My room had enough beds and room for the family! Next year they’re coming!)

At the same time, I really felt my creativity flowing for the first time in months, and it was really exciting.

Overall, it was an amazing journey and I’m already looking forward to next year’s RHS.

I hope you have a wonderful day, my friends, and see you soon.

xo
