For today’s post, I wanted to share some lunch box ideas for adolescents. I prepare the girls’ lunches every day and I love to assemble them. The Liv school offers a hot lunch, which is to take away from different fast food restaurants, but it is super expensive (like $ 20 for Chick-Fil-A) and they don’t even keep food warm before serving it for children. So, for reasons of quality and cost, I continue to make their food here at home.

Last year, I sometimes opened the lunch box to wash it, and a little would always sit here.

“I’m a little hungry but sometimes I don’t really want a bagel or sandwich … I would like a meal.”

“A meal? As what do you mean? “

“Like ramen, chicken, salad or something like that.”

It fled me. I was still a little excited by “children’s breakfasts”. Do not get me wrong, they always looked good and had a lot of tasty and healthy components, but she wanted a real meal instead of a bagel or a pb & j. It was a huge bulb moment for me because I feel the same thing. I don’t like to eat the same cold things every day, and for lunch, I often prefer a * meal * instead of a bagel or a PB & J.

[And for the friends out there who might be wondering why she didn’t pack her own lunch, she was dancing 10+ hours a week last year across town and had hours of homework each night. It’s also one of those things that I’m happy to do for them – I enjoy it!]

I started to ask her for lunch ideas and take her to Costco and Whole Foods with me to choose things that seem good to him. Now, I do its * meals * for lunch which are always as fast as making a PB & J or a bagel, but they are more satisfactory and pleasant.

It’s funny because I hated the remains when I was a child, but the girls love them. I soak the berries in vinegar and water for 2 to 5 minutes and I let them dry completely before storing in glass containers. I also chop melon and pineapple and storage in glass containers.
