I’m meeting up with my best internet friends for a quick juice date.
Hello friends! How are you doing? Hope you’re having a great week so far! I’m back in homeschool and mom mode after my trip, but I’m looking forward to a hot yoga class this afternoon.
It’s been a while since we’ve had a juice date, so I’d love to chat about what’s going on and see what’s going on in your life! So grab your favorite drink and let’s catch up for a bit, shall we??
If we had some juice right now…
I would like to know what you did! Is fall crazy for you too? What will your children do for Halloween? Travel plans for fall or vacation?
I have a trip to Los Angeles in a few weeks that I’m looking forward to, and other than that, we don’t have any trips planned at the moment. (Note: We are hosting a meetup on November 13th, so if you are near the Manhattan Beach area and would like to join us, let me know and I will send you the details!)
I always like to know when our next trip is – it gives me something to look forward to while I’m hustling, which I think is a traumatic reaction but I ignore that – so I’m crossing my fingers that we can book a Disney cruise or something fun soon. The girls have been begging to go to Korea and Japan, so I think that will be our next big trip, after Liv graduates from 8th grade. If you have any recommendations, let me know!! This is totally new territory for me. (And Liv is a little perplexed that we could have lived in Korea multiple times for the military, but opted for other better PCS choices instead.)
For Halloween, Liv is a boxer with her friend (cute gym outfits and boxing gloves) and P is one of those inflatable costumes that looks like an alien is carrying you. P turned 10 on Sunday and I can’t even believe it!
I would like to know what you have read/watched/enjoyed lately. I LOVE this season of Dancing with the stars And The Voice. I look DWTS with the children – they like it too! – and The voice a few times a week while I walk on the treadmill. I read Frozen river right now it’s intense and I’m enjoying it so far.
I would like to know how you are… like how you are Really TO DO. No fluff; the real deal. I would tell you that we are in an interesting season. We always try to reconcile the pilot’s travel schedule with my professional life and school at home. I also admit that homeschooling is amazing, but it’s not always easy. I had these grand ideas of all the school trips we would take and the crafts we would do, but the reality is that by the time we finish everything and eat lunch, I get to finish a chore and finish a few work tasks before I have to pick up Liv and head us to after-school activities/homework/dinner.
I know we will eventually find our balance. The good news is that she is doing well academically and the pilot helps her homeschool when he is in town. This is when I combine client calls and podcast interviews. It was always meant to be a bridge – not a forever thing unless that’s what it was meant to be – and she started saying that she missed her school friends. We’ll see what ultimately happens, but we’re taking it day by day.
I just wanted to be honest because online we see a ton of sourdough harvested from the farm in the garden, collecting the eggs, milking the cow, a romanticized version of homeschooling, but sometimes it’s not always like that. 😉
I’ll tell you about the Reimagining Health Summit and the excitement I feel after it.. These types of conferences always light a fire in my soul, but this one was particularly impactful. I feel truly honored to have been chosen to speak on the Health Coach expert panel with some of my best integrative health practitioner friends (and women I admire so much), and thanks to your incredible support, I was #7 out of over 5,000 IHPs in sales for our 100-day challenge. (I was #7 last year too!) I feel a boost for the next step and what I’m supposed to do, and I can’t wait to see it unfold. When I first interviewed Dr. Cabral for my podcast years ago, I knew he was creating something truly incredible, and I am beyond excited to be a small part of this project. EquiLife And IHP.
I would also like to ask what your thoughts are on peptides, particularly GLP-1/GIP. I know this can be an intense topic, but I’m always curious to know what my friends think about anything health/wellness related. I have always loved certain peptides and their abilities – like collagen peptides, OneSkin Products I use glutathione and NAD+ daily – but have long been adamantly opposed to GLP-1. I learned more and changed my mind, especially when it came to microdosing.
To my knowledge, there are no large-scale studies regarding microdosing; GLP-1s have been around for a long time, but associated studies are based on higher therapeutic doses. Many health experts I trust have spoken about the longevity benefits of microdosing.
If I end up trying it, I’ll definitely report back as I’ve heard it can be beneficial for blood sugar response, inflammation (I’m feeling very inflamed right now), and perimenopause. I don’t think you should depend on these things – and that you should test to see what underlying imbalances are happening – but it can possibly be a useful lever if you feel stuck.
I’ll look to see if you’ve tried any good recipes lately and what you’re making for dinner tonight. I did this bowl of beef for the first time about a month ago, and girls ask for it quite often. It’s SO good and satisfying! I also started adding artichokes. The sauce + beef and vegetable mixture is incredible.
I would also ask if you would like to share some gluten free treats with me 😉
Thanks for catching up today, friends, and for being here. Have a wonderful day and see you soon!
xo
