Hi friends! How are you doing? I hope you spend a beautiful morning so far. Today, I head for F45 and the chiropractor (bless it), then we meet with friends for pizza and bowling.

For today’s post, I wanted to share one of my simple favorite salad recipes for all time.

They prioritize products rich in nutrients from organic producers and it is a place often for us. 😉 One of the first dishes I never ordered, there was the real curly cabbage salad of food cooking, and I’ve been hanging since.

It’s not your average sad side salad. The real Tuscan kale salad is salty, bright, perfectly textured and full of flavor. It strikes all the good notes: shiny lemon, pointed garlic, the heat of the red pepper flakes, and this hazelnut and umami striking of Grana Padano or amonggiano Reggiano cheese. It is quite worthy and simple enough to recreate at home. Today, I wanted to share a version of the True Food Curly Curly Salad recipe that you can easily whisk in your own kitchen.

While many kale salads are based on heavy dressings or tons of garnishes to make the green leaflets loud, it adopts a minimalist approach which is all about balance and technique. The secret? Let the salad sit at room temperature after massaging the curly cabbage and dress it with oil, lemon juice, garlic and seasoning. This softens the kale and deepens flavor. Add the grated cheese and bread crumbs just before serving for this perfect crunch and this salty bite.

How to make the Tuscan Cabbage Salad

Recreating the real Tuscan Chou Chou Salad at home is easier than you think. The key is to use fresh ingredients and take a few simple preparation steps to raise the flavor and texture.

Ingredients

2 clusters of Tuscan kale (also known as Lacinato Chou Prize), distraught and finely chopped

3 lemons, freshly pressed

1/2 cup of extra virgin olive oil (It’s my favorite of all time))

2 cloves of garlic, grated in olive oil

Salt, pepper and red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1/2 Marsano cup finely grated or cheese amonggiano Reggiano

1/2 cup of grilled whole wheat bread bread (or gluten -free breadcrumbs)

Salt and red pepper to taste

Instructions

In a salad, whisk the lemon juice, cup of extra virgin olive oil and garlic salt and red pepper flakes.

Add the chopped curly cabbage in the bowl and mix well until it is uniformly coated. Massage the curly cabbage gently for 2 to 3 minutes to help break down the fibers.

Let the salad sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to blend and soften the green vegetables.

Just before serving, add the grated cheese and breadcrumbs and mix to combine.

Taste and adjust the salt and red pepper if necessary. Garnish with cheese shavings before serving.
