Hello friends! I hope you have a wonderful day. We just returned from an incredible trip to New York – I’ll share a recap soon! – and get back into the routine. I tackled the mountain of laundry, prepared for the pilot’s birthday and P’s birthday celebrations, and a few more trips. I’m heading towards Ft. Lauderdale and Los Angeles soon!
I wanted to share something I’ve been working on behind the scenes: helping my fellow IHPs and health coaches launch their businesses. I’ve been in the online space for over 15 years now (how?!) and have learned so much from reaching multiple six figures online.
I loved sharing what I learned and helping others start a successful online business. I started paid small group mentoring here – learn more about Revenue RX – but I’m also working on as many free resources as possible. One of my first clients just launched a 7 day challenge and 20 people signed up!
The first free resource is a Health Coach Toolkit, which you can download for free here.
Free Toolkit for Health Coaches
If you are a new health coach or integrative health practitioner, you’re probably feeling a mix of excitement and overwhelm. You’ve spent months (or years!) studying functional medicine, learning lab analysis, and helping clients transform their lives…
but now you ask:
“Okay, how do I actually run my business? »
I understand. When I started coaching, I had no idea what forms I needed, how to set up client onboarding, or how to keep my systems organized. I wanted to focus on helping people feel better, not spreadsheets and waivers.
This is exactly why I created the free Health Coach Toolkit – to help you avoid the complicated trial and error phase and start your practice with clarity, confidence, and with systems that actually work.
This free toolkit includes everything you need to launch or streamline your coaching business, whether you’ve just completed IHP2 or have been coaching clients on the side for a while.
What’s in the Free Health Coach Toolkit
This toolkit is designed to provide you with the exact resources I wish I had when I started my practice: all editable, customizable, and easy to personalize.
Here’s what you’ll find inside:
1. Client Intake Form
Your first step in understanding your client’s medical history, symptoms, and goals.
This editable form helps you collect everything you need to create personalized recommendations, without missing key details.
You can use it with a tool like Google Forms or Typeform so customers can easily fill it out online and you can organize everything in one place.
2. Waiver and Liability Form
This protects you and your business while setting your customers’ expectations.
It includes sections on confidentiality, medical disclaimers, and clear limits on the scope of your coaching. This is NOT legal advice. Simply take a copy to your attorney and they can help you modify it to fit your unique business and your state’s regulations. This is a starting point that you can customize to your needs.
Tip: Keep a signed copy on file for each client (digital copies are fine!). It’s one of the easiest ways to protect your business legally and professionally. I also recommend purchasing some form of health coach insurance. I use alternative balance.
3. Toxicity Quiz
One of my favorite tools for integrative health practitioners and health coaches.
This quiz helps your clients assess their toxic load so you can guide them toward safe, natural detoxification practices before embarking on advanced protocols.
How to use it:
Send before your first session to gauge where they start
Check back after 4-6 weeks to monitor progress
Use it as a teaching resource for group programs or challenges
4. Discovery call script
If discovery calls make you nervous, this script gives you a confident conversation flow to follow.
It helps you build trust, ask the right questions, and transition smoothly into sharing your offer, without feeling spammy or salesy.
Pro tip: Record your first calls (with permission!) to review your tone and pace. You will appear more natural and confident around everyone.
5. Website and Social Presence Checklist
Don’t know where to start online? This checklist covers everything you need for a polished, professional presence, even if you’re building your first website.
It guides you through your must-have pages (Home, About, Services, Contact), branding basics (logo, fonts, colors), and social media bio essentials.
Quick Winning Tip: Create a simple landing page with your free signup before worrying about a full website. You just need a clear way for people to find you and join your email list.
6. Weekly Content Calendar
Because consistency builds trust and is one of the most important things you can do to share your offerings and your unique style/method with others.
This calendar helps you plan your posts for the week, focusing on five key pillars:
Education and value
Inspirations and stories
Behind the scenes
Engagement
Promotion
Tips for New Health Coaches to Get Started
Even with the right tools, the first stages of coaching can seem long. Here are some lessons I learned that will help you find your rhythm faster.
1. Don’t overcomplicate your offers
It’s tempting to create multiple programs, but clarity sells. Once you have a solid offer that converts, you can always expand on it later.
2. Build Your Email List Early
Even if you don’t have a full website yet, start growing your list with a simple lead magnet (like this toolkit!).
Email is the best way to stay connected, build trust, and cater to your customers organically.
3. Use systems that save you time
Don’t be afraid to use tools that make your life easier:
Kajabi or Practice Better for customer management
ConvertKit or Flodesk for Email Marketing
Canva for branding and marketing materials
This saves you hours of administrative work each week and allows you to focus on client outcomes.
4. Prioritize the customer experience
Your first clients will be your best teachers.
Ask for feedback, refine your process, and always overdeliver.
A great onboarding experience, consistent communication, and simple check-ins can turn customers into long-term advocates.
5. Keep learning and keep it simple
You don’t need to know everything before you start.
Choose an area to master (like hormones, digestion, or detoxification) and go all in.
The best coaches remain curious, open and humble. They’re also real people, not robots 😉 Don’t be afraid to share the behind-the-scenes and unique things that make YOU.
